Lewes Christmas Trail
We want to make Christmas as special as possible for the people of Lewes. We are asking families, individuals and businesses in Lewes to decorate their houses, windows or gardens for Christmas - which street can be the most Christmassy? Which display is the brightest? The most colourful? The most inventive? The most imaginative? The most eco-friendly?
Go to the Lewes Christmas Trail website to find out more.
Once we have our entries we will put together a trail for everyone to enjoy for a small fee and any monies raised will go to the Friends of South Malling to help our children make the most of their school experience.
Become part of the trail
By signing up for this year’s event, you agree to decorate your house, garden or front window from Saturday 18th December to Wednesday 22nd December. Go one step further and encourage your friends and neighbours to take part. We will then create a festive trail for families to follow. Please bear in mind that the trail is aimed at primary school children and pre-schoolers.
We will invite families to follow the trail over the course of the four days and we are offering a prize for the best display.
We will ask those taking part to respect their community and to follow the COVID guidelines whilst following the trail. Please design your display so that it can be seen and appreciated from the pavements without people coming on to your property. We will provide you with a ‘no entry’ sign to put at the front of your path (or on your front door) should you choose to do so and will inform participants that they should not enter your property.
You can change how you decorate your house but please don’t change your mind about taking part once the trail has been created.
The small print (which you will need to follow):
Your data will be used by the Friends to make contact with you about the event. Only your address will be shared to enable your inclusion in the Trail. Your data will be kept until the event has taken place and will then be destroyed unless you have asked us to retain it to tell you about next year. The Friends will keep a record of how many houses in each street took part, but we will not retain your full address. Data will be stored on a secure Google drive file.
You agree to follow current government COVID guidelines, which are subject to change.
Some children are not allowed to have their image appear in the public domain or on social media. As the trail is associated with the school this could prove a risk for a few children who could be identified with the school. Please do not post any pictures, other than your own children, on social media or in the public domain.
