Lewes Halloween Trail
It's back! Have a wierdly wonderful Halloween by taking part in our trail:
Decorate your house, garden or front window
If you are happy to take part, please submit the form here.
By signing up for this year’s event, you agree to decorate your house, garden or front window from Friday 29th October to Sunday 31st October. We will then create a fun trail for families to follow. Please bear in mind that the trail is aimed at primary school children and pre-schoolers, so please refrain from anything too graphic before 9pm or too noisy after 9pm.
We will invite families to follow the trail over the course of the three days however we are offering a prize for the best display which will be judged on Halloween itself.
We will ask those taking part to respect their community and to follow the COVID guidelines whilst following the trail. Please design your display so that it can be seen and appreciated from the pavements without people coming on to your property. We will provide you with a ‘no entry’ sign to put at the front of your path (or on your front door) should you choose to do so and will inform participants that they should not enter your property nor knock on your door if the sign is in place. If you wish to leave treats, please try to ensure that they are as covid-compliant as possible.
You can change how you decorate your house but please don’t change your mind about taking part once the trail has been created. You need to have submitted the form by midnight on 22nd October to be included in the trail.

Your data will be used by the Friends to make contact with you about the event. Only your address will be shared to enable your inclusion in the Trail. Your data will be kept until the event has taken place and will then be destroyed. The Friends will keep a record of how many houses in each street took part, but we will not retain your full address. Data will be stored on a secure Google drive file.
You agree to follow current government COVID guidelines, which are subject to change.
Some children are not allowed to have their image appear in the public domain or on social media. As the trail is associated with the school this could prove a risk for a few children who could be identified with the school. Please do not post any pictures, other than your own children, on social media or in the public domain.

Taking place 29-31st October 2021, the Lewes Halloween Trail is a safe walkabout event for the whole family, organised by the Friends of South Malling School.
Trail maps can be purchased through Sellwire 28th-31st October. Download your Lewes Halloween Trail map and then find the spooky displays throughout the town.
This event has been organised as an alternative to trick or treating this year. Please maintain social distancing at all times and do not approach properties/doors if a 'no entry' sign is displayed. Decorated houses are to be enjoyed from the pavement. Those hosting displays may choose to supply treats but are not obliged to do so.
Children should be supervised at all times during the Lewes Halloween Trail. Please take care out there, especially after dark. Remain visible, stay off the roads and bring a torch!
Please share your photos on social media using the hashtag #LewesHalloweenTrail but take care not to include pictures of any children other than your own. Some children are not allowed to have their image appear in the public domain or on social media. As the trail is associated with the school this could prove a risk for a few children who could be identified with the school.
